You feed everyone. Who feeds you?
Motherhood can feel beautiful, hungry, tender and relentless all at once. You may be breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, wiping noses, packing lunches, reheating the same tea, or wondering why you’re starving again at 9pm.
Sometimes the hunger is physical.
Sometimes it’s exhaustion.
Sometimes it’s the weight of carrying so much.
Wholesome Cookie was created for those moments.
Freshly baked nourishment for mothers who need something real, now.
Things you might be wondering
Do lactation cookies actually help milk supply?
They can be supportive, yes! Our cookies contain ingredients traditionally used to support lactation, including oats, flaxseed, fenugreek, fennel, brewer’s yeast and selected warming spices depending on flavour.
Many mothers find them genuinely helpful. Others simply find the biggest win is having something substantial, ready to eat, and made with their needs in mind. Something with healthy fats, nutritious whole foods and the additional calories required to breastfeed and heal.
They’re support — not magic. Milk supply is also influenced by frequent feeding, latch, hydration, hormones, rest and stress levels.
How many cookies should I eat each day?
Some mothers enjoy 2 per day during cluster feeding, growth spurts, pumping seasons, sleep deprivation, or days when lunch never quite happened.
Listen to your body. This is nourishment, not a prescription.
How quickly might I notice a difference?
Some mums notice changes within 24–48 hours. Others notice benefits over a week of consistency.
Sometimes the first difference isn’t supply — it’s energy, steadier hunger, or finally having something that feels like actual food.
That counts too.
Can I eat them if I’m not breastfeeding?
Absolutely.
These cookies are for mothers — not only milk production.
Whether you’re combo feeding, formula feeding, weaning, raising toddlers, running on broken sleep, or simply hungry and over-touched by 3pm… these are for you too.
Good luck hiding them from the family ;)
Can I eat them during pregnancy?
Many women enjoy our cookies during pregnancy as a nourishing snack.
If pregnant, we suggest limiting the Ginger & Fennel flavour due to the inclusion of fenugreek, or checking with your midwife or healthcare provider first.
Fenugreek is included in food amounts, not therapeutic doses.
Always check the ingredients list for your chosen flavour.
What if I have low milk supply?
Low supply can happen for many reasons — feeding patterns, latch, hormones, stress, sleep loss, retained placenta, tongue ties, illness, and plain old depletion.
Cookies may be a supportive piece of the puzzle, but they are not a substitute for skilled help.
If supply feels persistently low, please seek support from an IBCLC, midwife, Plunket nurse, GP or trusted lactation professional.
What if I have oversupply?
If you’re dealing with oversupply, engorgement, forceful let-down, or baby struggling with fast flow, you may prefer to pause lactation-focused support for now.
Focus first on regulating supply and feeding comfort.
Why am I so hungry all the time?
Because motherhood is energetically expensive.
Breastfeeding can increase energy needs. Broken sleep affects appetite hormones. Stress can drive cravings. Constant caregiving uses more of you than most people realise.
Sometimes you need calories.
Sometimes protein.
Sometimes a nervous system hug in cookie form.
Usually a bit of everything.
I feel silly buying cookies for myself.
Tenderly: no.
You are allowed food that supports you.
You are allowed convenience.
You are allowed pleasure.
You are allowed to matter too.
Sometimes a cookie is not just a cookie.
The practical bits
Freshly baked weekly and sent across New Zealand — for you.
When do you ship?
We bake fresh on Mondays and dispatch every Tuesday across New Zealand. You’ll receive tracking details once your order is on the move.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes — we ship across New Zealand. Overnight delivery is booked where possible, though rural delivery may take a little longer.
How long do they stay fresh?
These are freshly baked cookies made with real ingredients. Best enjoyed within a few days at room temperature, or keep them in the fridge for longer freshness.
Can I freeze them?
Absolutely!
Freeze on arrival and defrost as needed. Just pop them in an air tight container and thaw as needed. They actually taste pretty great straight out of the freezer.
Many mothers keep an emergency stash for rough nights, growth spurts, visitors, or afternoons that got away from them.
